Rev. Audrey Price Ph.D

Director of Programs

In January 2026, The Oikos Institute for Social Impact announced the appointment of Rev. Dr. Audrey C. Price as the incoming Director of Programs. In this pivotal role, Dr. Price leads the newly established Programs division and oversees the landmark five-year initiative, “Hidden Congregations: Inspiring Stories of Discipleship.”

Dr. Price joins the Oikos Institute following a distinguished tenure at the Aspen Institute in Washington, DC, where she served as the Deputy Director of the Religion and Society Program. A renowned scholar and pastoral leader, she holds a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from The Catholic University of America with a concentration in Liberation Theology. Her career is marked by the successful management of high-impact national initiatives, including the Racial Justice & Religion and Religion & Philanthropy projects. As a trained Racial Justice Facilitator, Dr. Price’s vocational call as a pastoral leader and educator has seen her serve in critical denominational roles, including Executive Minister for Strategic Operations and Associate Conference Minister within the United Church of Christ (UCC).

Dr. Price’s specific expertise shapes the Hidden Congregations Program through a foundation of theological rigor and liberation. Drawing from her background in systematic theology, she will ensure the program’s storytelling remains grounded in a theology that prioritizes the marginalized and underserved. Furthermore, her experience leading national initiatives in racial justice and philanthropy provides her with a sophisticated understanding of how to connect under-resourced congregations with the broader philanthropic sector. Her extensive history in denominational leadership and excellence, including her service in the Southern New England Conference and Central Atlantic Conference of the UCC, gives her an intimate understanding of the administrative and spiritual needs of clergy. Finally, as a member of the Interim Ministry Network, Dr. Price will emphasize the institutional health and ministerial wellness necessary for small congregations to maintain their vital public witness over the long term.
