Rev. Dr. Jon Robinson is an ordained minister and seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in nonprofit management, board leadership, and community engagement. He currently serves as the Senior Program Director at Metropolitan A.M.E. Church in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, Dr. Robinson directs $6.5 million in grant-funded projects, including the $1.5 million Cities for Smart Surfaces environmental justice initiative which provides funding to churches and community-based organizations nationwide to innovate place-based climate mitigation strategies and advocate for ecological policy reform. Additionally, he serves as the Director of Metropolitan’s Lily Endowment-funded $5 million National Storytelling Initiative on Christian Faith and Life.
 
A dedicated leader in nonprofit management and board governance, Dr. Robinson serves as the Board Chair for the Oikos Institute for Social Impact, which equips churches to address systemic challenges and harness their assets to sustain social impact work. His commitment to public health and ecological reform is also demonstrated by his past tenure as an Advisory Board Member for the APHA Center for Climate Health and Equity.
As a recognized voice in faith-based climate resilience and social equity, Dr. Robinson frequently contributes to public discourse. His scholarship and op-eds have been published in the Washington Informer and New York Amsterdam News, where he advocates for equity-centered climate solutions, and Duke Divinity School’s Faith & Leadership, highlighting how faith coalitions combat urban heat islands.
 
Dr. Robinson’s academic background reflects a dual commitment to organizational excellence and theological depth. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Benedictine University, alongside Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degrees from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, where he actively serves on the Board of Trustees.
 
Additionally, Dr. Robinson has earned professional certifications in Church and Nonprofit Leadership from the Kellogg School of Management, and Youth and Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary.
 
Dr. Robinson has been married to the love of his life, Michelle, for 23 years, and they reside in Northern Virginia.
